How to remove butter stains

Load up on popcorn at the movies and found yourself making a mess? We’ve all been there, but luckily, it’s not too difficult to remove butter stains. Follow our step by step guides to get all those embarrassing yellow stains out of your clothes, so you can go back to enjoying corn, lobster and all your other butter covered favorites!

| What you need to treat butter stains

  • Butter knife or spoon
  • Enzyme-based liquid detergent or pretreatment stain remover

| Steps

1. Remove excess

Gently scrape off excess with the back of the butter knife or spoon. Be sure you scrape, not press, the butter from the fabric.

2. Treat

Treat with enzyme-based detergent or pretreatment and wait 15 minutes before washing normally.

3. Launder

Launder as usual in the washing machine.
