How to Remove Oil Stains

Fried food is everyone’s favorite, but it can be a hassle if you get oil on your shirt. Here are our easy-to-follow tips to remove oil stains from your favorite cotton shirts.

| What you need to treat oil stains

  • Pretreatment or liquid dishwashing detergent
  • Soft scrub brush

| Steps

1. Pretreat

Apply a pretreatment or liquid dishwashing detergent to the stain directly, while the garment is dry. Let the detergent soak in and rub gently with a soft brush to saturate. Let it sit for 5 minutes

2. Rinse

Rinse with warm water.

3. Repeat

If necessary to further lift the stain, repeat the application of the liquid detergent. Let the fabric air dry before rewashing to assess the need to reapply.
